Well, the three finalists will be picked by Unpious.com judges for overall writing quality. Of those three, we leave it to the readers to pick the best, using whatever criteria they choose: most thought-provoking, best-written, funniest, most-original, you name it. I suppose you can say, whichever resonates with readers most will win.

What are the judging criterias? What’s the definition of a $200 post? Is it one that provokes a furious trail of comments, is quality of writing, is it originality?

Anon guy — I don’t have exact links handy, but the subject has certainly been dealt with. (There’s also a book out there called, I believe, Good Without God; check Amazon.)

I do think it would make an interesting discussion here; but it’s a somewhat complex topic, IMO, and the subject tends to elicit rants and rambles rather than a carefully nuanced and thoughtful analysis. But if someone could do a well-thought-out piece on it, that would be awesome.

I would love someone to write a piece about the argument that without religion we would have no morals and we’d all be cheating on our spouses. In particular, it intrigues me that JP implies that without relgion he would have no problem cheating on his wife. What does that say about his marriage.
