On the eve of Yom Kippur we ask for forgiveness. If we have not wronged anyone, we slap someone and then we ask for forgiveness. If they refuse to forgive, we annoy them until they forgive. Then we must ask forgiveness for annoying them. Pregnant women are exempt.

One who forgot to recite the morning prayers must go back to sleep and wait until the following morning.  If he sleeps late the following morning, he should sleep yet another day and night. If he fails to wake after three days, he should be accorded proper burial.
